IP Nieuw Legmeer
Nieuw Legmeer is on the verge of transforming from a traditional business park into a green, urban residential neighborhood. The development is taking place within a dynamic context where existing functions, new housing, and the design of public space come together step by step. The design plan outlines the spatial framework and the intended final vision for the neighborhood's public realm.
A key quality of the public realm in Nieuw Legmeer is the clear distinction between various street and landscape profiles. By giving each street and route its own unique character and spatial layout, a neighborhood is created that is easy to read and allows residents to orient themselves effortlessly.
Within the structure of Nieuw Legmeer, three parks play a significant role as major recreational areas. Distributed across the development site—at the northern, central, and southern ends—these parks collectively serve as the primary green gathering spots for residents.

By applying the "green unless" principle, the public space is essentially a green area, with only the functionally necessary paving installed. Compared to the preliminary design, this design approach yields approximately one hectare of additional greenery.
Five main profiles can be distinguished within the plan: the Parkstraat, the Carré, the Singelgracht, the Eiland, and the Green-Blue Mantle.
